Opinions are a Dangerous thing: Art StylesThis isn't about narking on anyone no, infact this is just my own muses really! You could say this is a journal for ENCOURAGEMENT! *SHINES*
I find sticking to one style restrictive if you are a beginning/moderate artist! (even professionals I might say! though I can't speak for everyone)
Having a distinctive look on how your art is done and produced is understandable and its a desire to appear unique to the point some one can just SEE your work and instantly think 'Oh! that's Ten-days!' or something along the line. However, when you are trying to find who you are and what kind of art you are to produce, I recommend trying, well, a lot of different things! Different styles, mixing styles, different colouring techinque, brushes, tools, shading. Don't feel dependant on what you are already doing and don't feel pressured by people just for trying new things!
Push out of your comfort zone. Can't draw hands? don't avoid it! draw the heck out of them! (how else are you going to learn?)

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Bueno Chicuelos...son las 12:27pm, estoy un tanto deshorientado, al parerecer por alguna razon extraña a mi comprencion, me pase toda la noche, literalmente dibujando...no sentia sueño...solo seguir, y seguir...

fueron de esas veses que no quieres llevarte el trabajo a la cama, y desides no dormir hasta acabarlo...pero creo que mi pendejes me va a salir caro, ya que esta desvelada me seria mas util para acabar el trabajo final de Flash que tengo para mañana...

Pero lo hecho, hecho esta...La verdad estoy hasta la madre de todo lo que tenga que ver con la Uni. estoy agradecido de que ya mañana todo acabe...Lo que me tiene un poco sacado de onda, es el hecho de que en este caso no simplemente puedo entregar cualquier "baratismo" ...he irme de lo lindo de vacas...no estoy precisamente en un estado donde pueda negociar una buena nota de la clase...Y lo unico que quiero es ese dulce siete de la comformidad.

yeah, both the novel and the movie.. The movie was directed by Cuaron, and I just love his work. The movie is set in the 90's... New York... and the sountrack is really nice. A curious fact: all except the last wardrobe of Gwineth Paltrow is GREEN.... that movie is all GREEN!!!!
